Dear Debian Release Team, In this email, I would like to discuss the situation with updates of the telegram-desktop package in stable releases. Telegram recently updated their API introducing backward incompatible changes. Because of that a version of the package currently in bullseye cases to work. Details see in Bug#1001016. Would it be acceptable to update Telegram Desktop in Debian 11 from version 2.6.1 to the next upstream release 3.1.1 that is already in testing? A more general question arises. What will be updating policy in similar cases?
