Removing postgis during distribution upgrade does not cause data loss.
Don't try to make this issue bigger than it is.

As an RM you should know that stable releases include a lot more
packages which have issues more severe than this one for postgis.

Your attempt to force my hand is with threats of removal from stable are
not appreciated.
