Hi Uwe,
Thanks for the report, this is indeed a good suggestion.
I have decided to tag this bug as a newcomer bug (in a separate email)
and leave it unfixed for now, because it looks like it will be a bite
sized issue.
To anyone, who would like to try to write a patch for this, feel free to
ask questions. Please also consider reading

which is intended to get you started. If the document is inadequate,
please do let us know about where it is insufficient.
