The issue itself was known for some time before the jessie release,
sadly the fix took a very long time to materialise. Upstream has still
not released a Django 1.7 compatible version, and now we should be
porting to 1.8 which is again different for the database layer. I'm
rather annoyed about this whole mess myself, and have been pushing you
pretty hard at times. My apologies for both missing the release
originally, and hounding you about this later on.
I have uploaded the package that was used to generate the latest debdiff
in this bug report.
