The update fixing this bug has already happened.  That is work already
done in unstable.

What remains is for the changes to transition to testing.

Since the release team rejected the newer upstream in unstable, the
right approach now is via tpu.  The suggestion to revert the upstream
version in unstable with an epoch is not needed at all.

I will review and sponsor Christian's tpu so this can be done.
