Thanks. Unfortunately, that still has effectively the same problem - it relies on the stable update having been accepted.
The update for testing is independent of the stable update, even if you want them both to include the same change; the package will effectively branch. The proposed update for testing needs to be based on the package that is in testing now and not include changes targetted at other suites.
