Given that the maintainer disagrees on the severity and with FTP masters, I don't think that bug should be part of an NMU regardless of severity. NMUs are not a good way to resolve disputes. Therefore, feel free to go ahead with an NMU that does not include the disputed bug, and remove the moreinfo tag when it's in sid.
