I'm not happy with it either, but why do you say it does not achieve
anything?  Why do you say so, is this control field ignored?

At any rate I changed that to build-depend on libc-dev-bin (>>2.19-13 | <<2.19).

Can you say something about the FTBFS on hurd-i386 with the new test of
getpwnam() (not)working, as seen in the buildd logs?  It sigsegvs on the
following one-line program:

  int main(void) { return getpwnam("root") ? 0 : 1; }
  cc -static test.c

Should I do anything with it?  The same happens on exodar.debian.net too
(hurd-i386 porterbox) -- this small program segfaults there.

I'd like to address this prob before uploading -14 :)
