Now I have checked and it is better to use the patch I proposed before.
That is make a new testing branch based on the contents of testing
instead of uploading to unstable. This avoids unnecessarily complex
replace rules (to avoid upgrade from current unstable).
I'll do that when I get a green light from release team that the
patch is ok.
