Yes, that's 2006. I need to check my archive, but around June/July that
year I sent a mail to individual buildd maintainers (of the buildds where
I knew the symlink was broken; not sure if smackdown was among them).

The only buildd maintainer who ever reported a failing build due to this
problem was the s390 maintainer.

more luck/success than we had.
