I also filed bug #458728 asking a rebuild of evolution and bug #458729 asking a rebuild of gnome-pilot.

You conclude in the bug reports that the API has not changed, which is
fine and that the ABI probably has not changed too. Well, then a SONAME
bump is wrong, if that is the case.

I think it is an error from upstream.
I don't think it would have been a good idea to revert the patch from upstream and keep the SONAME just to simplify Debian dependencies.

Anyway you should ask for rebuilds here on d-release, as binNMUs won't
close bug reports and the bug reports you filed as normal should IMHO
be serious as the old binary packages will be cruft-removed soonish.

So that gives us (with a dep-wait on "libpisock-dev (>= 0.12.3-2)"):

gnome-pilot_2.0.15-2, rebuild against newer pilot-link, 1, alpha amd64 arm hppa i386 ia64 m68k mips mipsel powerpc s390 sparc
evolution_2.12.2-1, rebuild against newer pilot-link, 1, alpha amd64 arm hppa i386 ia64 m68k mips mipsel powerpc s390 sparc

Are you saying you are taking care of that?

It's a bit bad for evolution because that just started to build, but
well...

Sorry. Bad timing.

Thanks
