My concern was with things like the above two threads and some
uninformed posters like [1]. I specifically crafted some of the first
few questions as responses to [1]. I've seen several other questions
asking the release team to do ftp master stuff. Given your response, I'm
inclined to delete everything except for some of the links.

My intent was to reduce release-team work, but it seems my FAQ attempt
may have been misguided. Perhaps my pseudo link farm (it's a
bit more than that) replacement may be more useful.
