I could perhaps backport the patch if the release managers feel it is
appropriate, but I'm hesitant to do so in order to fix what seems to be a
cosmetic bug.  This message is only displayed for a very brief time, and
does not (in my opinion) detract from apt's usability.

I only fixed the issue in the http method.  If there are others, I think
they can probably be fixed in the same way, just let me know what you see.
I don't remember clearly what other problems there may have been.

The name of the mainline branch is apt--main--0.

I prefer not to complicate the situation by uploading things to unstable
which are not appropriate for the release, since my understanding is that
testing-proposed-updates is not at 100% yet.  I'll accept whatever the
release team says is appropriate, though.
