ah, I now see the motivation - it was your attempt to fix bug #910522.
I'll come up with a fix for this.
Two general remarks:
1. Please *always* use lintian on your packages by doing
lintian -i -I *.changes
2. If you think you have fixed a bug in Git please mention this
somehow visibly to some sponsor via sending an e-mail to
debian-r@lists.debian.org or at least to the bug log marking
the bug pending upload.
