Bug#1117109: plasma-workspace: manual save session breaks shutdown, restart, logout
Package: plasma-workspace
Version: 4:6.3.6-2+forestix1
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: forestix@gaga.casa
Dear Maintainer,
The Plasma application launcher's Save Session button causes
plasma-shutdown to enter a bad state, where exiting the desktop session
becomes impossible via the GUI.
(Note: This button is revealed by selecting Settings: Desktop Session:
Session Restore: When session was manually saved)
These things are broken in the bad state:
- Log Out Kickoff button
- Restart Kickoff button
- Shut Down Kickoff button
- Desktop right-click menu: Show logout screen
- The computer's power button, when configured in Power Management to
show the logout screen
Upstream bug report:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=488998
Clicking on "Save Session" breaks Shutdown, Restart and Logout in Kickoff
This has been fixed upstream, here:
https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-workspace/-/commit/e1b251fa874e5bb1dbb009440724621a462cd691
Would you please consider applying the upstream patch to Debian Trixie?
I believe it applies cleanly.
Thank you.
