Package: kdeutils
Version: 4:4.8.4+5.77
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

I do not want/need kgpg on my system but would like to keep kdeutils for commodity. Since I cannot remove kgpg without also removing kdeutils, I suggest to make the dependency less strict, so I can put kgpg on hold.

Many thanks and regards

Steffen

kgpg is part of kdeutils, so it makes sense for a metapackage called
"kdeutils" to also install kgpg.

I see you did a couple of years ago a change for this and the rest of
the KDE metapackages:
https://salsa.debian.org/qt-kde-team/kde/meta-kde/-/merge_requests/5

Unfortunately, this is not what we want to do. We cannot change the
metapackage to accommodate use cases too specific for certain users,
as they can be contradictory and in the end downplay the actual meaning
of a metapackage. As also mentioned in the MR, creating your own
metapackage for your own use case is always a possibility using
'equivs'.

Because of the reasons above (also those mentioned in the MR),
I'm closing this bug.

Thank you anyway for your report,
