Package: qttranslations5-l10n Version: 5.7.1~20161021-1 Severity: normal The Spanish translation files dont work. If you try to use in a code like this: locale = QtCore.QLocale.system().name() qtTranslator = QtCore.QTranslator() path = QtCore.QLibraryInfo.location(QtCore.QLibraryInfo.TranslationsPath) if qtTranslator.load("qt_" + locale, path): app.installTranslator(qtTranslator) The spanish translation of qt widgets don't show, trying with another locales work, like japanese or german. The files in packages reveal different structure for spanish translation: $ ls /usr/share/qt5/translations/ | grep _de.qm assistant_de.qm designer_de.qm linguist_de.qm qscintilla_de.qm qtbase_de.qm qtconnectivity_de.qm qtdeclarative_de.qm qt_de.qm qt_help_de.qm qtlocation_de.qm qtmultimedia_de.qm qtquick1_de.qm qtquickcontrols_de.qm qtscript_de.qm qtserialport_de.qm qtwebengine_de.qm qtwebsockets_de.qm qtxmlpatterns_de.qm ls /usr/share/qt5/translations/ | grep _es.qm qt_es.qm And the contents are like outdated in this file. Trying to use the files in arch package: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/any/qt5-translations/ root@hp:/home/jjgomera/Descargas/qt5-translations-5.10.1-1-any.pkg/usr/share/qt/translations# mv /usr/share/qt5/translations/qt_es.qm /usr/share/qt5/translations/qt_es_back.qm root@hp:/home/jjgomera/Descargas/qt5-translations-5.10.1-1-any.pkg/usr/share/qt/translations# cp *_es.qm /usr/share/qt5/translations/ This files do the translation and the code above show now qt messages in correct spanish translation. -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.4 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-6-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=es_ES.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_ES.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=es_ES.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) -- no debconf informationAttachment: QColorDialog_es.png

Version: 5.10.1-2 ¡Hola Juan José! They simply do not exist. By the time 5.7.1 was released there was no complete spanish translation. I'm afraid nothing we can do here. This should be fixed in the testing version of Qt (and even some previous one), so closing with this version.
