it appears, that the baloo demon is crashing unexpectly. When I found out, that it is not running at all, I started the indexing manually "balooctl restart".

Indexing worked well, but after any restart of KDE, baloo crashes with segfault and I get an error message.

Sorry that it took so long to get back to you. I'm not being able to reproduce this issue with the versions of baloo currently in testing, could you check if the issue "solved itself" since it was reported?

#6 __memcpy_sse2_unaligned () at ../sysdeps/x86_64/multiarch/memcpy-sse2-unaligned.S:36 #7 0x00007f942f7ae2fa in ?? () from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libKF5BalooEngine.so.5 #8 0x00007f942f79a334 in Baloo::PostingDB::get(QByteArray const&) () from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libKF5BalooEngine.so.5

How is that the symbols for Baloo::PostingDB::get could be resolved but not for the for the next call in the same library?

Reportbug told me, there is a newer version of baloo-kf5 in unstable, but this is useless for me, as I am running debian/testing

I hope this helps a little bit and thanks for any help!

It might be interesting to know the number of files that are in you home directory, and the size of it. There is a limit in baloo's index size that might have caused this issue (the limit was increased not so long ago).

Happy hacking,
