The changes in Qt5 handle much more error cases, which are much less
likely to occur, though. For example, the fix in Qt5 also handles
shutting down the PA daemon in runtime, which required changing the
inner workings of the backend, thus the amount of changes.

If we just want to avoid hanging on startup if PA is not running, most
of those changes are irrelevant.

Hm, where this (and the reasons for it) can be discussed? I feel like
this bug is not the most appropriate place :)
