Package: Debian (sid/squeeze)
Version: ( all versions weekly from 6/1 to present) I do apt-get upgrade weekly.
I have 2 CD/DVD writers (different brands. The are hooked to the IDE channel. I can boot from them, and I can also burn ISO or music to CD, with no problem.
My problem is with reading a CD. I normally put in a Music CD (for instance), the menu comes up asking what I'd like to open with, if I select Music Manager (Amarok), it can play them or I can burn to another CD. Catch here, I can not add the song or songs to the collection. Blanked out.
If I select Open with file manager or Konquorer, it just simply sits with an open screen and says "Insert a CD". Never shows the contents.
I suspect, one of the weekly "apt-get upgrade" libraries has messed something up, but I don't have a clue. Here is my sources.list:
deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ sid main
deb ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/ sid main
deb ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main
deb http://security.debian.org/ lenny/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main non-free
deb http://security.debian.org/ testing/updates main non-free
deb http://security.debian.org/ sid/updates main non-free
deb http://security.debian.org/ squeeze/updates main non-free
Example of what I get in dmesg when inserting a CD:
[ 437.305945] cdrom: This disc doesn't have any tracks I recognize!
[ 438.310734] cdrom: This disc doesn't have any tracks I recognize!

Never shows the contents. Historic Konqueror bug, closing. If this can still be reproduced with current KDE and Dolphin, please reopen. Cheers, Moritz
