Package: kopete
Version: 4:3.5.10-2
Severity: important

When trying to connect to the ICQ server, kopete aborts after milliseconds
with the error "$ID disconnected", where $ID is the ICQ number of my user.
This is completely reproducable.

Testing a different ICQ user there is no error, so it seems to be user
dependant.

Using another ICQ client (centericq) works for the problematic user, too,
without errors or problems, so only the combination of a specific user and
kopete leads to the error.

The problem exists for some weeks now, and it seems I am not the only one with
that problem:
http://www.nabble.com/kopete-in-Lenny-defekt-!--td24889303.html
http://debianforum.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=113722
Unfortunately both pages are in German, but effectively they have the same
problem. The only known solution is using a different client. According to the
first report the problem could be related with a wrong checksum of a network
packet, but I do not know if that is related somehow.

Please tell me, if I should provide more information or do a network sniff
myself. I could not provide log files, as I did not find any.
