Package: kde-window-manager
Version: 4:4.2.2-2
Severity: important
File: /usr/bin/kwin

I have a dual monitor twinview configuration. What worked
good in KDE 3.5.9 is now broken:

1.
It's not possible to tell KDE (4.2.2) to maximize a window
only to the size of one monitor instead of maximizing it
over the whole desktop (two monitors).

2.
It's not possible to tell KDE 4.2.2 to open a window on
a specific monitor (in my case, the right one).

Others (users of the debian NG) report, that their windows
maximize always to one monitor and they cannot find a setting
to tell KDE to maximize over two monitor. They use an older
Qt-Version so this might be related.

What works is, that I can tell KDE to use different background
images. When configuring the login manager (system settings)
both monitors are recognized and identified as '1' and '2'.

In the display settings dialog, there's no sign that I use
two monitors. Everything looks like I had one monitor with
a setting of 2048x960 (just like pure xinerama). The button
'identify output' recognizes the whole desktop as one
named 'default'.

I made screenshots, that show the problem. They can be
found here:

http://81.169.152.37/screens/xinerama-1.jpeg
http://81.169.152.37/screens/xinerama-2.jpeg
http://81.169.152.37/screens/xinerama-3.jpeg
http://81.169.152.37/screens/xinerama-4.jpeg

Other window managers (I testet at least icewm) maximize the
window to only one monitor using the same xorg.conf setting.

My xorg.conf can be found here:

Thanks for reading.
