user "root" and proper password
-> small popup with "root"
So yes, it works here too (hence closing, as also confirmed by other
users).

What happens in Gentoo hardly matters for Debian.
Period.
(and beside that, we do *not* have KDE 4.9.x, but we're currently using
KDE 4.8.4.)
