If there are such reports, you should follow up on them then (with backtrace 
preferably). Frankly, I have not seen such bug reports with current akonadi 
(maybe I just don't remember) which (and the text of the original bug report) 
makes me believe you really wanted to go forward with "no akonadi on my system 
no matter what" scenario. Sorry, that's wontfix.

When you are bored, you can read the recent flamewar on debian-
kde@lists.debian.org about similar subject.

If kmail crashes, can you assume an email draft is saved? If browser crashes, 
can you assume the text in the textfield is saved? Most of the time, kmail 
autosaves email drafts so do some browsers. But sometimes kmail fails to do 
it.

If you want this bug report alive, give it a sane title which does not scream 
"akonadi is not running on my system because I want so and I want kmail 
working anyway". Also give description of the real world situation, not a 
hypothetical one.
