The screensaver theory sounds quite promising. When I start the KDE control
center and select Appearance/Screensaver, then it crashes as well.

I was using the "nv" X driver, but the behavior is the same with the "vesa"
driver.

The backtrace doesn't change with libgl1-mesa-glx-dbg. I didn't find any -dbg
package for the video driver.
Does anyone happen to know where the screensaver configuration lives in ~/.kde
so I can analyze or reset it manually?
