Subject: kde-i18n-es: The correct name of Mexico is México, not Méjico Package: kde-i18n-es Version: 4:3.5.1-1 Severity: normal Tags: l10n patch The name of the city, country and state is "México", not "Méjico". In many parts of the kde-i18n-es files you can find "Méjico". I attach a patch only as a reference of those lines. The Constitution of Mexico, writing in Spanish, always refers to Mexico as "México". I have checked with Mexican people and they agree to call their country "México". This also applies to the city, the state and the country. luciano -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-1-686 Locale: LANG=es_AR, LC_CTYPE=es_AR (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages kde-i18n-es depends on: ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.2-2+b1 core libraries for all KDE applica kde-i18n-es recommends no packages. -- no debconf informationdiff -Naur kde-i18n-es-3.5.2.orig/messages/kdeedu/kstars.po kde-i18n-es-3.5.2/messages/kdeedu/kstars.po --- kde-i18n-es-3.5.2.orig/messages/kdeedu/kstars.po 2006-03-17 08:08:01.000000000 -0300 +++ kde-i18n-es-3.5.2/messages/kdeedu/kstars.po 2006-05-10 18:48:06.000000000 -0300 @@ -10873,13 +10873,13 @@ msgid "" "_: City name (optional, probably does not need a translation)\n" "Mexico City" -msgstr "Ciudad de Méjico" +msgstr "Ciudad de México" #: kstars_i18n.cpp:1585 msgid "" "_: City name (optional, probably does not need a translation)\n" "Mexico" -msgstr "Mejico" +msgstr "Mexico" #: kstars_i18n.cpp:1586 msgid "" @@ -18181,7 +18181,7 @@ msgid "" "_: Region/state name (optional, rarely needs a translation)\n" "New Mexico" -msgstr "Nuevo Méjico" +msgstr "Nuevo México" #: kstars_i18n.cpp:2804 msgid "" @@ -19225,7 +19225,7 @@ msgid "" "_: Country name (optional, but should be translated)\n" "Mexico" -msgstr "Mejico" +msgstr "Mexico" #: kstars_i18n.cpp:2978 msgid "" diff -Naur kde-i18n-es-3.5.2.orig/messages/kdelibs/timezones.po kde-i18n-es-3.5.2/messages/kdelibs/timezones.po --- kde-i18n-es-3.5.2.orig/messages/kdelibs/timezones.po 2005-09-10 08:49:11.000000000 -0300 +++ kde-i18n-es-3.5.2/messages/kdelibs/timezones.po 2006-05-10 19:46:15.000000000 -0300 @@ -560,7 +560,7 @@ #: TIMEZONES:136 msgid "America/Mexico_City" -msgstr "América/Ciudad_Méjico" +msgstr "América/Ciudad_México" #: TIMEZONES:137 msgid "America/Miquelon" diff -Naur kde-i18n-es-3.5.2.orig/messages/kdepim/kaddressbook.po kde-i18n-es-3.5.2/messages/kdepim/kaddressbook.po --- kde-i18n-es-3.5.2.orig/messages/kdepim/kaddressbook.po 2006-03-17 08:08:02.000000000 -0300 +++ kde-i18n-es-3.5.2/messages/kdepim/kaddressbook.po 2006-05-10 19:45:54.000000000 -0300 @@ -631,7 +631,7 @@ #: addresseditwidget.cpp:551 msgid "Mexico" -msgstr "Mejico" +msgstr "México" #: addresseditwidget.cpp:552 msgid "Micronesia, Federated States Of"Attachment: signature.asc
