Package: kdvi
Version: 4:3.5.2-1+b1
Severity: important

kdvi depends on kviewshell to display documents.

If kviewshell isn't installed kdvi exits after displaying
message "No viewing component found"

Short strace run shows:

lstat64("/usr/lib/kde3", {st_mode=S_IFDIR|0755, st_size=24576, ...}) = 0
access("/home/kl/.kde/lib/kde3/kviewerpart.la", R_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
access("/usr/lib/kde3/kviewerpart.la", R_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
lstat64("/home", {st_mode=S_IFDIR|S_ISGID|0775, st_size=4096, ...}) = 0
lstat64("/home/kl", {st_mode=S_IFDIR|0755, st_size=4096, ...}) = 0
lstat64("/home/kl/.kde", {st_mode=S_IFDIR|0700, st_size=4096, ...}) = 0
lstat64("/home/kl/.kde/lib", 0xbfbb504c) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
lstat64("/usr", {st_mode=S_IFDIR|0755, st_size=4096, ...}) = 0
lstat64("/usr/lib", {st_mode=S_IFDIR|0755, st_size=36864, ...}) = 0
access("/usr/lib", F_OK) = 0
lstat64("/usr/lib", {st_mode=S_IFDIR|0755, st_size=36864, ...}) = 0
access("/home/kl/.kde/lib/kviewerpart.la", R_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
access("/usr/lib/kviewerpart.la", R_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)

Program dies shortly after that.
(I have no idea why it's looking for .la, and not .so...)

Installing kviewshell fixes this.
(kviewshell contains /usr/lib/kde3/kviewerpart.*)

Sarge package does depend on kviewshell.

It seems that removing this dependency was mistake.

Thanks.

This is now fixed, as a rebuild has occured with the fixed CDBS.
