This works for me as my normal user - that is, when I close and reopen the
Printing Manager, the setting I changed is still changed.
My settings changes get saved in $HOME/.lpoptions like this line:
Dest LaserJet PageSize=Letter Resolution=600dpi _kde-filters
(the changes I made were PageSize -> Letter and Resolution -> 600dpi).
Does your $HOME/.lpoptions reflect the changes you make? Does it exist? Is
it writeable?
What version of CUPS do you have installed? (dpkg -l cupsys-client libcupsys2)
Thanks,
Josh
