Subject: kscd unusable on NewWorld machines (no hard connection between
CD & sndcard)
Version: 4:3.1.0-1
Severity: important
Tags: sid

kscd is unusabe on NewWorld powerpc platforms because it assumes that
there's a hard link between the cd player and the soundcard. NewWorld
Macs do not have this wire.

This is also kde bug #44216 (http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44216)

A workaround is to use xmms with the xmmscdread plugin. However, using
the arts plugin with it plays only static.

Since kscd now has cdda rip-play support, I'm closing this report.

Cheers,
