If FAM has hung (which happens after the most recent dist-upgrade)
KDE fails to start. There are no error messages and no diagnostics.
It hangs on the "initializing system devices phase". Restarting fam
fixes it.

If fam is hanged, that is Fam bug, not an kde bug. It also
appears that fam maintainer has already fixed the problem.
