Package: i cannot track down the package in charge, most probably more
than one kde package is involved

Version: i'll supply the importanst kde-package versions here:
kde 3.1.2
kde-core 3.1.2
kde-base 3.1.5-2
kwin 3.1.5-2
kdelibs 3.1.5-1

uname -r: 2.6.2 ( i compiled it myself as i do since 6 years now )

uname -a: Linux vivane 2.6.2 #1 Wed Feb 11 11:57:51 CET 2004 i686
GNU/Linux

hardware: duron 1300 / 1GB RAM (100MHz) / via kt133 / NVidia GForce 2 GTS
PRO (with NVidia drivers which also causes problems, but they seem to be
independent from this problem) / keyboard and mouse connected via usb

error messages: none!

producing this error: let linux run 4hours or 4 days for the different
effects

There are no special debug messages with kde, but however there are
strange symptoms since my last upgrade:
1. xfig does freeze
2. my usb ports usually works fine, as soon as i start kde it continously
enables / disables until after some hours it refuses to work
3. after some days (most probably 3-4 days) my cpu-load goes up to
constant 40% (system) and i need to reboot to get rid of it

This only happens with the actual version of kde, the ones before only had
minor issues and no other windowmanager produces this problems. Staying
out of x-windows also works fine. I'm currently using fvwm2 again without
any problems. Only with starting kde i got really severe problems with
system stability.
