Re: differences between KDE 3.3.0-1 and 3.3.0-2?

Ok, I found the problem.

It seems XIM does not work when xmodmap is loaded and started from
Xsession.d.

Background: I created a custom xmodmap file some time ago, because I
wanted to have some west european chars on my US/Chinese keyboard.
Normally I load my XIM software on startup in Xsession.d.
I have also loaded my xmodmap file this way.

But somehow qt doesn't like that. I had this issue before and had a talk
with the trolltech guys. They said it worked for them, so it might be a
debian specific problem.

However, GTK2 and plain X apps work fine.

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce the situation in KDE 3.3.0-1, where XIM
worked. I'm not sure if I had enabled the xmodmap file at that time...

Maybe you guys can take a look at it? Or give me some hints where I
might have to look to find the library which is responsible for this
behaviour?

Cheers
Arne
