If the mails are not relayed but discarded then I strongly suggest to
send something like a "Delivery Status Notification (Failure)" mail to
the sender.  I'm used to getting them from "regular" mail servers if I
use an incorrect address.

E.g. I used $pkg@tracker.d.o a year ago as user because I saw it
(incorrectly) mentioned somewhere.  I just realized recently (while
looking into alioth issues) that there was no non-responsive maintainer,
but a mistake on my side.
