Finding a Debian maintainer for libghttp (or removing it)
This is the obsolete GNOME HTTP library. It is orphaned, and
has been since Auguest 2005.
The packages in Debian which depend on it are:
xmms-singit (maintainer florian@debian.org)
telegnome (maintainer cjwatson@debian.org)
orpheus (maintainer nobse@debian.org, RFAed)
digitaldj (maintainer tim@famdijkstra.org)
libhttp-ghttp-perl (maintainer vperez@debianvenezuela.org)
I hope that one of these maintainers may be interested
in adopting libghttp. Remember, if you don't, libghttp
will rot, and will probably eventually be removed out from under you.
Alternatively, you may review your package and find either that
(1) You don't really want to keep that package in Debian
or
(2) The package can be updated to use a different, current library
If this happens with all five packages, then libghttp could be
removed from Debian safely.
Please reply to the list. WNPP bug for libghttp is #300231.
