Alioth has been a terrific resource for me in this regard. Using it and dpatch, I'm easily able to co-maintain packages, maintain bugs, and keep releases in check with multiple developers.
I'd highly recommend that this group utilize Alioth to its fullest, so that co-maintainers can best pool their resources.
