No. This is not a problem with my scripts. I sent this mail after, of
course, investagations:
lftp ftp.uk.debian.org:/debian/dists/unstable/main/source> ls
-rw-r--r--    1 108      101            84 Feb 16 20:42 Release
-rw-r--r--    1 108      101        726488 Feb 16 20:33 Sources.bz2
-rw-r--r--    1 108      101        960511 Feb 16 20:33 Sources.gz
lftp ftp.uk.debian.org:/debian/dists/unstable/main/source>

and Peter's script (ftp-update) gathered information from
ftp.uk.debian.org in order to be extracted to
klecker:/org/qa.debian.org/data/ftp

I explained this problem correctly the only thing where I was wrong is
about the primary mirror.
