Bug#122530: xmmsarts kills xmms at random

forwarded 122530 34541@bugs.debian.org
reassign 122530 libarts-dev
merge 122530 117056
thanks

I can reproduce this bug too, here's a backtrace as nobody seems to have
given one yet:

---snip---

This happens after I (while playing) click next track, or previous track, or
stop and then play, i.e. anything that causes arts_free() and then
arts_init() again, and it also only happens when network transparency is
turned on. I'm fairly confident this is bug #117056 (KDE #34541), hence the
merge.

Package versions:
ii xmms 1.2.5-2 Versatile X audio player that looks
like Winamp
ii xmms-dev 1.2.5-2 XMMS development static library and
header files
ii xmmsarts 0.4-17 aRts Output plugin for xmms
ii libarts-dev 2.2.2-4 aRts Sound system (development
files)
ii libarts-alsa 2.2.2-4 aRts Sound system (built with alsa
support)
ii libaudiofile-dev 0.2.3-1 The Audiofile Library (Header files
for development)
ii libc6-dev 2.2.4-5 GNU C Library: Development
Libraries and Header File

(aside) I'm not yet a member of the Debian project, but I have ITA'd xmmsarts
(#116549), and will apply to NM once I have some signatures on my GPG key.
