Package: xinetd
Version: 2.2.1-8
Severity: wishlist

If I am correct in thinking that version 2.2.1 of xinetd has been packaged,
I'd love to see Debian switch to the actively developed fork of xinetd. The
currect version (2.1.8.6b5 or see
http://freshmeat.net/appindex/1998/10/30/909732313.html) has many more
useful features than the dead 2.2.1 tree.

Anyway, I've alien'ed a RPM of the package, so that's holding me over for
now, but I'd love to see a native Debian version of this tree of xinetd.

Thanks for your time!

Hi people,

All these problems you reported against Debian xinetd package
are fixed now. Please upgrade, if you can.

In case you wondered, the bugs haven't been closed until now because the
package maintainer wasn't around, and the package is in fact orphaned. I am
doing this as a member of the quality assurance group.

Thanks for reporting...
