Package: python-gnome
Severity: important

        Hi,

I wish we could stop shipping the Python bindings for libgtk1.2.
 (libgtk1.2 being completely obsolete)

 The rdepends show:
bee% apt-cache rdepends python-gdk-imlib-1.2 python-gtk-1.2 python-glade-1.2 python-gnome-1.2
python-glade-1.2
Reverse Depends:
  xkeysw-config
  python2.3-twisted-core
  python-twisted-core
  gnome-tasksel
python-gtk-1.2
Reverse Depends:
  xkeysw-config
  sql-editor
  scigraphica
  python2.4-gtk2
  python2.3-twisted-core
  python2.3-gtk2
  python-gnome-1.2
  python-glade-1.2
  python-gdk-imlib-1.2
  pydict
  icepref
  iceme
  gnome-tasksel
  gaby
python-gdk-imlib-1.2
Reverse Depends:
  python-gtk-1.2
  python-gnome-1.2
python-gnome-1.2
Reverse Depends:
  gnome-tasksel

 This only shows xkeysw-config, gnome-tasksel, sql-editor, scigraphica,
pydict, icepref, iceme, and gaby. This is quite reasonable.

  Bye,

The python-gnome package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/461128 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
