Package: beep-media-player
Version: 0.9.6.1+cvs20040813-6
Severity: important

I'm seeing hangs when opening certain mp3 files. This happen both with
NFS and on local filesystems (why I'm opening it as a new bug.)

XMMS also plays the affected files just fine.

strace shows it's spinning on read and _llseek:
> read(14, "\0Jay-Z + DJ Danger Mouse\0", 25) = 25
> read(14, "PIC\3\340\372", 6) = 6
> _llseek(14, -6, [180], SEEK_CUR) = 0
> read(14, "PIC\3\340\372", 6) = 6
> _llseek(14, -6, [180], SEEK_CUR) = 0
> read(14, "PIC\3\340\372", 6) = 6
> _llseek(14, -6, [180], SEEK_CUR) = 0
> read(14, "PIC\3\340\372", 6) = 6
> _llseek(14, -6, [180], SEEK_CUR) = 0
> read(14, "PIC\3\340\372", 6) = 6
> _llseek(14, -6, [180], SEEK_CUR) = 0
> read(14, "PIC\3\340\372", 6) = 6
> _llseek(14, -6, [180], SEEK_CUR) = 0
> read(14, "PIC\3\340\372", 6) = 6
> _llseek(14, -6, [180], SEEK_CUR) = 0
> read(14, "PIC\3\340\372", 6) = 6
> _llseek(14, -6, [180], SEEK_CUR) = 0
> read(14, "PIC\3\340\372", 6) = 6
> _llseek(14, -6, [180], SEEK_CUR) = 0
> read(14, "PIC\3\340\372", 6) = 6
> _llseek(14, -6, [180], SEEK_CUR) = 0
> read(14, "PIC\3\340\372", 6) = 6
> _llseek(14, -6, [180], SEEK_CUR) = 0
> read(14, "PIC\3\340\372", 6) = 6
> _llseek(14, -6, [180], SEEK_CUR) = 0
> read(14, "PIC\3\340\372", 6) = 6
..and it goes on. I killed it after 400MB of logging.

I have a sample file available, contact me off the bts for a copy.
