Bug#206590: timidity-patches: could the package be split?

Package: timidity-patches
Version: 0.2-1.2
Severity: wishlist

Between version 0.1-5 and the current version, the package has
exploded from 12MB to around 37MB.  Is there any way the package could
be split into a small timidity-patches-{core|basic|essential|...} and
timidity-patches (the rest)?
