Finally, like it was the Internet once upon a time, you forget to add.
Like, before politis sickness/madness (*) invades the network which
used to self-regulate because the people involved were the top
educated with a STEM background. Now, we can simply observe what
Umberto Eco states: people were in "such a way" even before the
Internet, but just their acquaintance knew.
For THIS reason, moderation is WRONG while law enforcement over the
Internet might be ok as far as it is related to those crimes that have
a duality into the pre-internet world. Because technology DID NOT
create new crimes, but novel ways to commit the same crimes as before.
Moreover, despite the introduction of moderation we moved from "I
strongly disagree with opinion" to "I am offended by your opinion" to
"your opinion is an act of harassment" to "reality cannot limit me"
(**). So, moderation is WRONG, despite your opinion rules that cannot
be enforced by law are useless or even worse than not having them
because bad guys, criminals, rebels, hackers, do not follow rules
while "honest" people face a sort of delusion in seeing that they
abide rules and others who not (***).
This kind of delusion - having rules but not enforcing them or
enforcing them and being who are WRONG in doing that - brings many
people to ask for "someone in charge" that re-establish the order.
Which usually he is dad. Dad is a man, a traditional man, spit over
the garden before entering in the houve, have pants with the belt, and
he use the belt to slash all the guys in the rooms asking for "law
enforcement", then he looks around kids in the eyes and rhetorically
asks "enough?". A fascist, in a word. Possibly the only good fascist,
because immediately after he leaves the room and goes back working in
the garden instead of establishing his domination until his death.
So, HOW TO clean the Internet by "those WRONG opinions" without
moderation? Schooling and STEM culture recognition. Not because STEM
is better or "good". Because STEM needs to challenge reality to
achieve their piece-of-paper degree. Therefore, they have experienced
a little, facing reality. For example, we know that WHEN gcc is
throwing errors to us, it is right almost all the time and we HOPE SO,
because otherwise we need to fix it instead of our typo and fixing gcc
is a brutally hardre matter than finding our typo and correcting it.
Reality is even more brutal than gcc, way more brutal.
Do not trust me, just look at the world outside the screen you have in
front of you and you will recognise these patterns. They have been
under our eyes for all our lives! ;-)
== NOTES ==
(*) these two adjectives apply to every polarised kind of politics,
which does not mean that old-gold-days multipolar politics was sane.
It was a fraud and corrupted but at least anchored to the reality of
some very fundamental social concerns like having free healthcare,
free schooling, pension, job seek or mother-hood support, the basics
of a civilised modern society, etc.
(**) if you are thinking that I am exaggerating, then go to
investigate the root causes and related human decisions behind the
"Fall of Ponte Morandi in Genoa, Italy", "Baltimore's bridge crash" or
ultimately "Los Angeles wildfire disaster". Just three examples in
which ideological or greedy-driven decisions were taken WITHOUT any
consideration for reality but at the contrary changing the narrative
to sustain the arbitrary decisions.
(***) why the hell do I have to abide by some rule apart from
reciprocity, etc. who are embedded in the world and in us, as well.
Best regards, R-
