I still have not got get what the Events team should say here.

Just to be clear: the Events team does not track how much merchandise is
sold at any event.  There were discussions in the past to do that, but
they resolved to nothing and given the current situation it would be
almost impossible to do (manpower and feedbacks).

AFAIK FOSDEM is the most selling event (~5000 EUR) for any kind of
merchandise, while at the Paris Mini-DebConf 2013 we were at ~2500 EUR.
The most demanded products are always stickers and T-Shirts.
