Hmmm, I partially agree with Zack: I don't think it's a flame. It's
either someone who really didn't understand what Debian's philosophy
is (but I found his strange but easy to spot real name on several
other debian mailing lists like e.g. debian-backports) -- or a troll.
(And in that case a not very succesful one I'd say. ;-) Nevertheless I
understand this fear, too.

But I think without the very first paragraph this easily could be put
into a blog posting or similar. So if Russ (Cc'ed) wants to put this
in a blog posting, too, you could link there.

I though don't want to urge Russ to do so, I just want to get this
idea of my head, spark it and hope that it starts burning. :-)
