However, I'd rather drop the second part about universality and replace
it with something along the lines of: 1/ running a project like Debian
needs a wide range of skills, not only technical; 2/ community diversity
goes hand in hand with community richness.
First suggestion of a quote converting that from note form:

"Debian is best known for high-quality package maintenance and good
technical decisions, but a much wider range of skills are needed to keep
the project running.  Our non-technical contributors help add to the
diversity and richness of the Debian community."
Being part of the "non-technical contributors" I strongly dislike the wording
"help add to" and suggest "are part of".
