Hi!

You might have noticed some activity on some lists pointing out, that it
might a good idea to prepare a special announcement.

A draft is available at http://people.debian.org/~tolimar/release.txt
and will updated with reflicting your reviews comments and patches to
correct my germish as my time permits it (remember me to set up an svn
(?) repo for that kind of stuff).

Hi Alexander,

Original paragraph:
"Debian GNU/Linux can be installed from various installation media such
as DVDs, CDs, USB sticks and floppies, or from the network. While GNOME
remains the default desktop environment to be installed, special CDs
that will install the K Desktop Environment (KDE) or the Xfce desktop
are also available. Also introducing with Debian GNU/Linux 4.0
multi-arch CDs and DVDs allowing to install different architectures from
a single media are available."

My suggested paragraph:
"Debian GNU/Linux can be installed from various installation media such
as DVDs, CDs, USB sticks and floppies, or from the network. GNOME is the
default desktop environment and is contained into the first CD installation
media, K Desktop Environment (KDE) and the Xfce desktop can be installed
through two new alternative desktop images or any other media (broadband
recommended). Also introducing with Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 multi-arch CDs
and DVDs allowing to install the operating system in different architectures
from a single media are available."

Snippets:

* Original: "Asterisk 1.2.13, and much more."
* Suggested: "Asterisk 1.2.13, and more than 14000 [or 15000?]
supported software ready to use."

* Original: "Debian 3.1 is another important step in that direction."
* Suggested: 4.0?
