"I don't agree with you, and therefore am not personally willing to put
effort into this. If you feel that I'm wrong, I don't want to stand in
the way fixing the problem that you perceive, but to the degree that you
want me to do work, you have to convince me. Some examples of things that
would convince me are A, B, or C. I also want to make sure that other
things that I think are important aren't broken by the fix for this
issue."
