I, however, have not had a reason to need anything but the Debian Bug Tracking System. We do guarantee under our Social Contract with the Free Software Community that we will not hide problems and that the bug tracking system will be available for public view at all times. You can always file a bug report on any one of our packages with the reportbug tool if you are dissatisfied with its performance or if you wish for a new feature. Debian does not require you to pay anything for Debian GNU/Linux, and you can always use the apt tool to upgrade to the latest version of software if you have an internet connection or newer CDs. You can find a variety of different ways to install Debian at cdimage.debian.org. Debian offers three complete distributions: stable, which contains only completely stable software. The current codename for this is "woody". Only stable offers security updates. testing, which contains software that has been tested somewhat and is less likely to break. The current codename for testing is "sarge". And unstable, where all new packages and new versions enter. This is the latest and greatest, and its codename is and always will be "sid". See the website for more details on this. I would also like to point out that the Debian Social Contract states that "Our Priorities are Our Users and Free Software". Debian takes both of those priorities very seriously, and that's why I use it. I am not a Debian Developer, and I speak only for myself. -- Brian M.
