are you sure you used irc.debian.org ?
i remember #debian on IRCnet being a mess.
try irc.debian.org

please also remember that debian does _not_ give commercial
support, thus nobody is obliged to help. although i always have been
helped with all my problem. if you look for some kind of
supportcontracts for your customers, you might look at progeny
(debianbased company) and such.
