Hi Till,

The new version sounds like a SONAME change in cpdb-libs? So, yes this is too late for Bookworm.

Yes, I has API changs as we had to add several important features, especially human-readable UI strings, translations and options grouping.

No problem, it is only essentially needed for the New Architecture. Simply leave Bookworm as it is now and we put in everything new only when development re-opens for the next Debian release and let it mature the full cycle. I will do all the updates Ubuntu-only for now and once Debian re-opens after Bookworm we have already done first rehearsals on Ubuntu. We could even kick off the introduction of the New Architecture on the DebConf in India ...

You could perhaps do uploads of the New Architecture stuff into Experimental to get some more testing.

By the way, is Debian's HPLIP package up-to-date with upstream? And if not, could you update it? Bookworm should not come with outdated HPLIP.

I just uploaded a new version and now have a look at some bugs, so the next upload will follow soon.

Thanks for updating HPLIP.

So I will better wait for you next HPLIP upload before I update the HPLIP Printer Application?

   Till
